How we rate
The whole method, written down, so you can disagree with it. If our weighting does not match how you play, the sub-scores on every review let you re-rank the table yourself.
The five criteria
Every operator is scored out of 10 on five criteria. Those sub-scores appear on each review page. The headline rating out of 5 is the weighted average below.
Fairness of terms
30%The wagering base and multiplier, the maximum bet, the win cap, the contribution table and the expiry window. An offer that wagers deposit plus bonus starts a long way behind one that wagers the bonus alone.
Bonus value
25%What the offer is worth in expectation after the terms are applied, not what the banner says. A wager-free offer of £15 can score higher here than a £300 match at 45x.
Payout speed
20%Measured end to end from withdrawal request to cleared funds, including the first withdrawal where identity verification happens. Pending periods count against the score.
Game range
15%Total titles, the split between slots and live tables, and the number of distinct providers. Breadth matters less than the terms, so it is weighted accordingly.
Support
10%Response time on live chat and email, and whether a real question about bonus terms gets a real answer rather than a copy of the terms we already read.
What we actually do
Nothing is listed on the strength of an operator's marketing. For every site in the table we register an account, deposit real money, play through part of the bonus, and request a withdrawal. The first withdrawal is the one that matters, because that is where identity verification happens and where most complaints originate.
We then read the bonus terms in full and pull out the five clauses that decide whether an offer is worth claiming: the wagering base, the maximum bet, the maximum withdrawal, the contribution table and the expiry. Those appear next to the headline on every listing.
What disqualifies a site outright
Some things are not a low score, they are an exclusion. We will not list an operator that meets any of these:
- No UK Gambling Commission licence.
- Accepts customers registered with GAMSTOP, or offers any route around self-exclusion.
- Advertises a headline bonus whose terms materially contradict it.
- Failed to pay a verified withdrawal during our testing.
- Marketing that could appeal to under-18s.
Where commission fits
We earn a commission when someone opens an account through one of our links. That is how the site is paid for, and we say so on every listing. It does not affect the ratings or the order results appear in, and the ordering logic is simply our rating, descending.
The practical test of that claim is on this site already: the operator advertising the largest headline bonus sits last in our table, and operators we score poorly are still listed and still linked rather than quietly dropped. If commission drove the order, neither would be true.
How often this is re-checked
Monthly. Bonus terms change without notice and often without any announcement. Every listing carries the date we last verified it against the operator's own site. If you find a listing that no longer matches the offer, tell us and we will correct it.
Even so, always confirm the offer on the operator's site before depositing. The terms there are the ones that bind you, not the summary here.
